Who will be the best excursion of 2026?
After an intervening year it is back: the election of the Best Excursion of the Netherlands. And this time in a fresh look – organised by a new collaboration of parties from the day recreation industry.
Great Stay is a proud partner of this great election, together with Pretwerk, Recreatie Vakbeurs / Recreatie Next Level, BUAS (Breda University of Applied Sciences) and Go-Kids.
Voting is possible from 1 June to 31 October
During this period, consumers can vote for their favourite outings via www.go-kids.nl/leukste-uitje/stemmen. Not only will a national winner be declared, a prize will also be awarded per province.
After the voting round, the top 10 will be assessed by a BUAS jury of experts, who will help determine who eventually takes the title.
Why this is interesting for holiday accommodation
For owners of holiday parks, campsites, B&Bs, hotels and holiday homes, this election is a fun and useful way to inspire guests. The outings that enter are often perfect for families with children – and therefore ideal to share via your own Great Stay guest app or web app.
By cleverly scheduling these local tips as push messages or in your activity overview, you enrich the guest experience and help plan a great day out.

Presentation during Recreation Next Level 2026
The award ceremony will be concluded with a national presentation during Recreatie Next Level 2026 – a great moment to reflect together with the industry on what makes the Netherlands such a great recreation country.
