How Go-Kids Inspires Families with Young Children, Now Also via an App

We spoke to Riëtte from Go-Kids about their mission, their own app, and the collaboration with Great Stay App.

“What should I do with the kids this weekend?” Riëtte often asked and heard that question at school drop-offs. With Go-Kids, she wants to help parents find quick answers. “Our platform offers both local and nationwide inspiration—from day trips to vacation camps, from family-friendly restaurants to overnight stays. We share an up-to-date calendar, highlight all kinds of activities, and publish lots of blogs.”

At the Recreation Trade Fair in 2023, Go-Kids connected with Great Stay App. “We’d already been thinking about launching an app, but it had to fit our business model. With Great Stay, we finally found the right match. The app feels like our own little ‘minion’—fully in our style, but built on a smart platform.”

Riëtte is excited about the results, though they’re aiming higher. “Since the launch in May 2024, we’ve only promoted the app organically to our followers—and we’re already at 6,000 downloads. To boost that number, we’re working on some fun campaigns.”

Their app offers extra value. “It’s more clear-cut, and people have it literally in their pocket. It’s free to download, no login needed, and everything is instantly available.”

Everything you find on Go-Kids.nl is in the app too—but it doesn’t stop there. “We’re running a pilot with a virtual (AI) travel guide named Kiki. Kiki is a collaboration between Go-Kids and Maps Untold, and it adds a new layer to the app experience.”

What stands out most? The collaboration with Great Stay App. “It’s not just technical—it’s a strategic match too. They really think along with us. That leads to ideas we wouldn’t have come up with ourselves.”

A great example is the election of the Most Fun Outing of the Year. “Great Stay App is a partner in that. Thanks to the connections we now have, we can run this election—and even the Maps Untold integration—right inside the app. Without Great Stay, we wouldn’t have had that network.”
